Ivy The Inflatable Reindeer Found
The mystery of Ivy the Reindeer has been solved.
The 12-foot high, 19-foot-wide, inflatable reindeer from the Tysons Corner Center's welcoming sign was found a few miles from home behind George Marshall High School in Falls Church.
An anonymous caller reportedly tipped off mall security to Ivy's location. The somewhat battered $15,000 reindeer was recovered Wednesday morning, two days after her disappearance.
She's being inspected to see whether she can go back to work Wednesday or Thursday

Somewhere out there lurks a reindeer thief, and he or she is making for a very un-merry Christmas at one of the Washington area's biggest malls. Fairfax County Police say sometime late Sunday or early Monday, someone made off with "Ivy" - a 12-foot-high, 19-foot-wide inflatable reindeer.
Ivy was minding her business atop the Tysons Corner Center marquee on the Leesburg Pike when police say someone cut the power to the sign and stole her. The mall's chief engineer discovered the theft when he arrived early yesterday.
Police spokeswoman Officer Jacqui Smith says they're surprised no one saw it happen, and think maybe someone did, without realizing a crime was in progress. Mall management says the reindeer is worth $15,000. But they also say if it's returned unharmed before Saturday - when Santa arrives - they won't press charges.
Ivy's pal "Irving" remains safe atop the mall marquee on the Route-123 side, but a spokesman says they believe someone tried to steal it as well, because some wiring had been cut loose.
Ivy and Irving have been at the mall three years.
SOMEone at WJLA was having a little too much fun with that story, methinks.

Ok, let's think about this.
A LOT of effort has to go into stealing a 12ft tall reindeer.
This kind of thing always fascinates me.
People are delightfully odd sometimes.
I think you need to take a photo of these reindeer, Bunny. For historical and blogging purposes.
